Dandeli forest is home to many rare varities of trees, plants, creepers and flowers. You can find many types of orchids. Teak trees from this region are known smell and oil content. Bamboo is also very common. Flowering of bamboo trees happened couple years back and new bamboo trees have started emerging. It is a very rare chance to witness new bamboo trees growing.

Fauna

The sanctaury is home to very rare and endangered wildlife. Tigers, black panthers, sloath bears can be found but they are very small in number. In the recent years, because of efforts from forest department and local organizations we can see tiger population is increasing. Good number of Elephants have made their home here. Prey animals are barking deer, sambar and gaur. Gaint malabar squirrel and bison are common and are very easy to spot. Kali river is home to many crocodiles. King Cobra and Viper and common among snakes.
